10 books to read
for personal growth

Sep 12, 2021

Your personal growth is vital to all areas of your life. It can change your attitude towards anything, and therefore, creates new opportunities for advancement. If you practice this consistently, your personal growth can unlock the potential that lies within you.

With the current global situation, it is important to think about how we can continue to have that growth mindset. With more time than ever to shift our focus inwards and dedicate time to learning, what can we do?

We have always had a large focus on personal growth, learning from anything we can - webinars, YouTube, podcasts, courses, books etc. We ourselves started at 0, learning everything from how to take photos, edit videos and grow our accounts to being able to launch our own business and digital products. Learning continuously is something which we always wanted to do, due to our “growth mindset”. No matter how much we know, we still have a desire to learn more and I believe this has been one of the biggest keys to our success!

For this blog post I decided to focus solely on books. I have listed below 10 books that have given me the most value and I believe that all of them will leave you feeling inspired and motivated to become the best version of yourself.

They say reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body, let's get our minds in shape!

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

First things first - The Alchemist. No self-development book list is complete without this one. This book gives you an insight of how life can be, from different perspectives. It shows the importance of following your journey, listening to your heart, and never giving up on your dreams. If you are ever in need of motivation, we suggest you give this book a go.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life - well, this book has a very different approach. It’s about learning to let go, in order to start enjoying life. Manson suggests we stop forcing ourselves to always be “the most” and “the best”. Sometimes the best way forward is to stop focusing on things that aren’t essential in our lives. Manson shows us how to stop trying to be "positive" all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people.

Letting Go: The Path To Surrender by Dr. Hawkins

Do you struggle to let go of old wounds and blockages, such as anger and guilt? If your answer is yes, then you might struggle to be fully present. In his book, Hawkins presents a simple technique that can be used anytime and anywhere to process our emotions, leading you to a happier, more fulfilled life.

Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo

While most self-help books offer quick fixes, Everything is Figureoutable will retrain your brain to think more creatively and positively when faced with setbacks. If you want to face your fears, fulfill your dreams, and find a better way forward then I am sure you will like this one!

Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza

This book is great for somebody who is very logical and analytical but wants to learn more about taking control of your life through meditation. The author explains how your mind and your body work together to create the reality you are living in.

Thinking Like a Boss by Kate Crocco

For anyone who's ready to give up their excuses, Thinking Like a Boss is a must-have manual to help you live the life you dream of. Crocco dives into the 12 “limitations” that might be keeping you from reaching your full potential. If you feel like you are at a dead end, I recommend you give this book a try!

Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Have you ever wondered why some people are more successful than others? Then you might find your answer in this gem. It’s a very easy read, but it gives you a ton of valuable tips and tricks on how to improve yourself and your life. Covey believes that the way we see the world is entirely based on our own perceptions. He focuses on your progress and with it, your improvement.

Shoe Dog by Phil Knight

This book is a little different from others on this list. It is based on a true story of creating the Nike brand. It is super inspirational if you are planning to build your own brand or become an entrepreneur. The book talks about the reality of what it takes to create something so powerful and successful.

The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz

This is one of the best books about relationships. The author is talking not only about relationships with other people but most importantly, yourself. He raises topics about self-love and the importance of finding happiness within you, rather than searching for it in somebody else. It makes you look at relationships from a totally different perspective!

The Success Principles by Jack Canfield

The last book that I want to recommend connects and shares knowledge from several other self improvement books. The Success Principle simplifies the tools and what you need to do, to take your life to the next level. The first and most important principle is to take responsibility for your own life. It is so easy to blame your situation on the things that have happened to you in the past. However, taking responsibility gives you the power to do anything you want to. If you follow and apply all the principles from this book, you might be able to transform your life!

And that’s it! These are my top 10 book recommendations for your personal growth.
